The University of Lomé (UL) is expanding its global footprint. On Friday, 5 June 2026, the institution formalised a framework cooperation agreement with Creighton University, a Jesuit university based in Omaha, Nebraska, United States.
The pact was signed by Professor Kossivi Hounaké, president of the University of Lomé, and Reverend Father Daniel Hendrickson, president of Creighton University. Through this partnership, both institutions aim to strengthen collaboration in training, research, and knowledge exchange.
The agreement provides for the development of joint training and research programmes, as well as the promotion of mobility for students, faculty, and researchers. It also opens the door for organising conferences, seminars, and other scientific activities of mutual interest.
The two universities also commit to sharing academic resources and developing collaborative projects. Special attention is given to protecting intellectual property and maintaining confidentiality of information exchanged in the course of research work.
5-year term
Initially concluded for a renewable five-year period, this accord offers fresh prospects for scientific and academic cooperation, benefiting the entire university community.
With this new partnership, the University of Lomé continues its policy of international outreach and confirms its ambition to strengthen its presence within global university networks.
