The second investor-focused session of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group kicked off in Abidjan on July 9, 2026, with Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé leading the proceedings at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire.
Mobilizing private capital for economic transformation
Robert Beugré Mambé opened the session by emphasizing the critical role of private investment in driving Côte d’Ivoire’s development ambitions. He highlighted the strong turnout, noting that over 700 investors from friendly nations had gathered to explore opportunities.
The Prime Minister underscored the importance of the meeting as a platform for fostering dialogue with the private sector, aligning visions for growth, and strengthening collaboration to build a more competitive and job-creating economy.
Côte d’Ivoire’s economic resilience on display
In his address, Robert Beugré Mambé reassured investors of Côte d’Ivoire’s robust economic performance, citing an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years and its resilience amid global challenges. He positioned Côte d’Ivoire as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies, offering a thriving market for investment.
The government’s strategy, he explained, centers on private sector leadership in economic transformation. Key priorities include industrialization, local raw material processing to boost value addition, infrastructure development across transport, digital, and logistics sectors, and investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services.
Strong private sector commitment pledged
The session also featured remarks from industry leaders, including Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Ivorian Enterprises (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), who reaffirmed their confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s development roadmap.
They expressed readiness to contribute financially to the PND 2026-2030, signaling a collective commitment to accelerating the country’s economic progress.
