Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé spearheads investor engagement for Côte d’Ivoire’s economic vision
The second day of the Consultative Group for the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030, specifically designed for investors, was inaugurated in Abidjan on July 9, 2026. The event, held at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, was led by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé, who emphasized the critical role of private investment in driving the country’s growth ambitions.
« This session marks a pivotal moment in our collective effort to harness private capital for sustainable development,» declared Beugré Mambé. « With over 700 international investors in attendance, we are witnessing firsthand the confidence placed in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic trajectory. Your presence here today underscores a shared commitment to building a more competitive and job-creating economy.»
The Prime Minister highlighted the government’s strategic pivot toward private sector leadership in economic transformation. He pointed to Côte d’Ivoire’s proven resilience, citing an average annual growth rate of 6.5% over recent years—a testament to its adaptability amid global uncertainties. « This is an economy in full expansion, offering unparalleled opportunities,» he stated, urging investors to capitalize on sectors prioritized in the PND.
Key focus areas include industrialization, local processing of raw materials to enhance value addition, infrastructure development (transport, digital, logistics), and investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services. These pillars, Beugré Mambé noted, are designed to bolster competitiveness and inclusivity.
The first day of the event, dedicated to institutional partners, had already drawn over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire. Echoing the Prime Minister’s optimism, industry leaders reaffirmed their support. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Ivorian Enterprises (CGECI), along with Mehdi Tazi of Morocco’s CGEM and Mohamed Gouled of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), pledged substantial financial commitments to the PND 2026-2030.
