Mali’s security crisis deepens: Bakary Sambe dissects the collapse of external security partnerships
In the wake of coordinated jihadist attacks on April 25 that left Defense Minister General Sadio Camara dead and saw armed groups seize control of Kidal, a new analysis by the Timbuktu Institute has exposed critical flaws in Mali’s security strategy. The report, titled « Mali: anatomy of a security earthquake », argues that reliance on foreign military partners has failed to deliver the stability promised to the Malian people.
