After securing a second consecutive Champions League title, PSG is gearing up for a busy summer transfer window. The Parisian club aims to rejuvenate Luis Enrique’s squad and has been pursuing several targets, including Mateus Fernandes. However, a Premier League giant has now taken the lead for the 21-year-old attacking midfielder.

Having won back-to-back Champions League trophies, PSG is planning an active transfer market this summer. The capital club wants to refresh Luis Enrique’s roster for next season and has activated several leads, including one for Mateus Fernandes. The Portuguese international, who was not called up for the 2026 World Cup, is set to leave West Ham. But the Rouge-et-Bleu are not in an ideal position for the 21-year-old midfielder.
Manchester United takes pole position for Mateus Fernandes
Manchester United has emerged as the frontrunner for Mateus Fernandes. The West Ham standout reportedly prefers a move to the Red Devils, despite interest from Tottenham and other clubs. PSG is thus being overtaken by the Premier League powerhouse in the race for the 98M€ transfer.
PSG makes progress on other targets
Meanwhile, PSG continues to advance on other fronts. The capital club is in a strong position for Yan Diomandé of RB Leipzig and Maghnes Akliouche of AS Monaco. Both are reportedly keen on joining the double European champions this summer. The combined cost of their transfers could reach around 200M€. More to follow…
