The newly appointed head of the Clarification and Restoration Commission set up by Maurice Kamto spoke on the programme “Entretien avec” on STV.
Pierre Emmanuel Binyam addressed Maurice Kamto’s resignation from his party to join Manidem and be nominated as a candidate for the 2026 presidential election, a candidacy that was unfortunately rejected.
“President Maurice Kamto’s resignation from the party was not a resignation in the sense of turning his back on the party. We sent him to carry out a mission. Now, after what happened, he has returned. We asked him to come back and finish his term,” said Pierre Emmanuel Binyam.
This member of the Movement for the Rebirth of Cameroon (MRC) assured that Kamto’s elimination was a real ordeal for party members.
“The rejection of Maurice Kamto’s candidacy deeply affected us. We were profoundly marked by the elimination of our candidate from this election, especially since all polls widely showed him as the winner of this vote, both nationally and internationally,” added Pierre Emmanuel Binyam.
