Christian Sedat, a seasoned German diplomat, currently serves as the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Cameroon. Based in Yaoundé, he officially assumed his responsibilities in July 2025. His extensive career includes significant experience within the central departments of the German Foreign Office and various diplomatic postings worldwide, notably as Ambassador to South Sudan from 2023 to 2025.

Supporting local social initiatives and cooperation

Prior to his appointment in Cameroon, Ambassador Sedat held the position of German Ambassador in Juba. His international career also saw him contributing to German Embassies in London and Washington D.C. between 2009 and 2013. Earlier, from 2005 to 2008, he served as Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy in Nouakchott, Mauritania.

Since arriving at the German Embassy in Yaoundé, Ambassador Christian Sedat has been actively spearheading key initiatives within German-Cameroonian cooperation. His mandate primarily focuses on enhancing economic relations and development collaboration.
