Manchester City and Nottingham Forest are closing in on an agreement for Elliot Anderson. The England international is eager to join the Sky Blues, and Pep Guardiola’s side may need to pay around €150 million to finalise the transfer.
Manchester City are ready to spend big. The north-west club lead the race for the 23-year-old midfielder and are nearing a deal with Nottingham Forest for the 11-cap Englishman. City’s latest bid, roughly €140 million, was rejected by Forest, but negotiations are converging towards the asking price of about €150 million. This sale would significantly help Nottingham Forest, who placed 16th in the Premier League last season.
City hold a major advantage: Anderson has made clear his wish to move to the Etihad. The transfer could become one of the costliest ever, potentially ranking in the top five or even top three depending on the final figure. If the fee surpasses €140 million, Anderson will become the most expensive midfielder in football history and might beat the Premier League record set by Liverpool for Alexander Isak at €150 million.
