Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno issued a stern warning following a recent assault by Boko Haram militants on a military outpost along the shores of Lake Chad. In a statement released the following day, he vowed to intensify efforts to eliminate the insurgent threat entirely.
The attack, which targeted the Barka Tolorom base on the Chadian side of the lake, resulted in 24 fatal casualties among government forces. This brazen strike underscores the persistent and escalating danger posed by the jihadist faction in the region.
