World Vision Tchad Unveils Bold Strategy to Transform Child Futures by 2030

N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad has rolled out its ambitious 2026-2030 national strategy, marking a transformative step toward improving the lives of 3.29 million children across the country. The initiative, unveiled during a high-level press conference, brings together media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities to align on this decade-long vision for sustainable change.

An Integrated Approach to Child-Centered Development

The newly launched strategy is built on three pillars: humanitarian assistance, sustainable development, and peacebuilding. This holistic framework, known as the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus, aims to bridge urgent relief efforts with long-term growth and stability initiatives. By 2030, World Vision Tchad seeks to directly impact the lives of 3.29 million children, with 3.09 million from the most vulnerable groups, ensuring they not only survive but thrive in safe and nurturing environments.

Carla Dominique Denizard, Regional Director for West Africa at World Vision, emphasized the groundbreaking nature of this strategy during her address. She highlighted its alignment with continental and global development agendas, including the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16). Denizard stressed that the approach integrates local cultural and spiritual values, fostering community ownership and resilience in the face of persistent challenges such as insecurity, climate change, and widespread poverty.

Addressing Chad’s Most Pressing Challenges

In his remarks, Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, described the strategy launch as a historic milestone. He noted that the plan represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to previous cycles, with a clear focus on transforming the lives of the nation’s most marginalized children. « Our goal is simple yet powerful: to ensure every child in Chad has the opportunity to grow, learn, and reach their full potential, » he stated.

Wangoy outlined the strategy’s key priorities, which include:

• Nutrition and health: Strengthening integrated health services with a special focus on maternal and child health to combat malnutrition, which affects nearly 42% of the population living below the poverty line.
• Education: Expanding the Unlock Literacy program to enhance early reading skills, laying the foundation for lifelong learning and economic opportunity.
• Child protection: Intensifying efforts to shield children from violence, exploitation, and abuse through community-based safeguarding systems.
• Climate resilience: Building adaptive capacity in vulnerable communities to withstand the growing impacts of climate change, including droughts and erratic rainfall.

The strategy’s success hinges on collaboration across sectors. World Vision Tchad is calling on government agencies, financial partners, civil society organizations, religious leaders, and media outlets to join forces in implementing this roadmap. By fostering a unified response, the organization aims to turn current challenges into lasting opportunities for Chad’s children, ensuring no child is left behind in the journey toward a brighter future.
