N’Djamena – World Vision Chad officially unveiled its national strategy for 2026-2030 on Thursday, July 9, 2026. The launch took place during a press conference at the Hôtel Résidence in N’Djamena, bringing together media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities. This new roadmap sets an ambitious goal: to reach 3.29 million children by 2030, with a particular focus on 3.09 million of the most vulnerable, through enhanced interventions in health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience. This comprehensive plan underscores World Vision Chad’s commitment to improving lives across the nation.

Carla Dominique Denizard, World Vision’s Regional Director for West Africa, based in Dakar, described the strategy as both “bold and innovative.” She elaborated that it is built upon the “Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus” approach, designed to seamlessly connect emergency responses with sustainable development initiatives and peacebuilding efforts. Denizard emphasized that the children of Chad deserve a life of abundance, a vision she believes is achievable through robust partnerships, strong community engagement, and the integration of local cultural and spiritual realities.

Continuing her remarks, Carla Dominique Denizard reiterated World Vision’s broader vision for West and Central Africa: to ensure every child living in the region’s most fragile contexts not only survives but also thrives fully. She highlighted the persistent major challenges faced by the region, including widespread insecurity, pervasive multidimensional poverty, the escalating impacts of climate change, and significant population displacements. In response to this complex situation, the organization has adopted an integrated strategy that harmonizes humanitarian assistance, long-term development, and peace consolidation efforts.

According to Denizard, World Vision Chad’s strategy aligns with key continental and international frameworks, notably the African Union’s Agenda 2063, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Chad’s own Vision 2030. The strategic plan places significant emphasis on strengthening human capital, enhancing social protection mechanisms, adapting to climate change, improving educational outcomes through the ‘Unlock Literacy’ program, and vigorously protecting children from harm.

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, the National Director of World Vision Chad, characterized the launch as a “historic moment” for the organization and for the future of Chadian children. He noted that this new strategy represents a 20% increase in the organization’s ambitions compared to its previous strategic cycle. Wangoy affirmed their clear yet audacious objective: to reach 3.29 million children by 2030, including 3.09 million of the most vulnerable. “We aspire for every child in Chad to not only survive but also to flourish completely,” he added, highlighting the profound impact of this Chad child well-being initiative.

The National Director also underscored that Chad continues to grapple with numerous difficulties, including persistent poverty, widespread malnutrition, recurrent humanitarian crises, and the severe consequences of climate change. Data presented by World Vision reveals that nearly 42% of the Chadian population lives below the poverty line, underscoring the critical need to intensify actions supporting the most vulnerable communities.

He further elaborated that the 2026-2030 strategy is built upon several priority pillars. These include strengthening integrated nutrition and health services with a specific focus on maternal and child health, enhancing education through the ‘Unlock Literacy’ program designed to foster reading skills from early schooling, protecting children from all forms of violence, and bolstering community resilience against the adverse effects of climate change. These pillars are crucial for advancing child well-being in Chad.

Following this comprehensive presentation, World Vision Chad’s leadership issued a collective appeal to all national stakeholders.
