In a landmark event held in N’Djamena, World Vision Tchad has officially introduced its ambitious national strategy for 2026-2030, designed to transform the lives of 3.29 million children across the country. The launch, attended by media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities, marks a significant step toward addressing the critical needs of vulnerable populations.

The strategy, unveiled during a press conference at the Hôtel Résidence de N’Djamena, outlines a multi-sectoral plan focused on health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience. With a target of reaching 3.09 million of the country’s most vulnerable children by 2030, the initiative aims to go beyond mere survival, ensuring children thrive in safe, nurturing environments.
Carla Dominique Denizard, World Vision’s Regional Director for West Africa, described the strategy as ‘innovative and bold’, emphasizing its foundation on the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus. This approach bridges emergency relief with long-term sustainable development and peacebuilding efforts, ensuring interventions are both immediate and enduring. ‘Children in Chad deserve more than just basic survival—they deserve to flourish,’ she stated, highlighting the importance of strong partnerships, community engagement, and cultural sensitivity in achieving these goals.

The 2026-2030 strategy is designed to align with key international and continental frameworks, including the African Union’s Agenda 2063, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Chad’s Vision 2030. Priorities include strengthening human capital, enhancing social protection, adapting to climate change, and expanding access to quality education through initiatives like Unlock Literacy.
Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, called the launch a ‘historic moment’ for the organization and the children of Chad. He noted that this strategy represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to previous cycles, with a clear mission: ensuring every child in Chad not only survives but thrives. ‘Poverty, malnutrition, and recurring humanitarian crises continue to plague our nation, but through this strategy, we are taking decisive steps to change that narrative,’ he said.
