N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad has unveiled its ambitious 2026-2030 national strategy, marking a significant milestone in its mission to transform the lives of the country’s youngest citizens. The initiative, launched during a high-profile press conference in the capital, brings together media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities to outline a comprehensive vision for the future.

The organization aims to directly impact the lives of 3.29 million children by 2030, with a special focus on reaching 3.09 million of the most vulnerable through targeted interventions in critical sectors. These include health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience, all designed to create sustainable pathways out of poverty and hardship.

An integrated approach to tackle deep-rooted challenges

The strategy is built on the groundbreaking Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus, a three-pronged framework that bridges emergency relief with long-term development and peacebuilding efforts. World Vision’s regional director for West Africa, Carla Dominique Denizard, emphasized the transformative potential of this approach during her address.

« This strategy is not just about meeting immediate needs, » she stated. « It’s about creating lasting change by addressing the root causes of vulnerability while respecting cultural and spiritual values. Every child in Chad deserves the chance to thrive, not just survive. »

Denizard highlighted the region’s complex challenges, including pervasive insecurity, multidimensional poverty, climate change impacts, and mass displacement. He underscored the urgency of the situation, revealing that nearly 42% of Chad’s population lives below the poverty line—a statistic that underscores the critical need for intensified interventions. The strategy prioritizes:
