New EU envoy in Chad delivers credentials to president Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno

In a solemn setting at the Palais Toumaï, the newly appointed European Union ambassador to Chad, Amador Sanchez Rico, formally presented his credentials to President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno on May 19.

The ceremony, attended by Fatimé Aldjineh Garfa, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with oversight for African integration and Chadians abroad, underscored the gravity of the occasion. The EU envoy was accompanied by Sona Jarosova, Head of the Political Section, and Karl Rawert, Head of Cooperation for the EU Delegation in Chad.

This formal exchange marks the official commencement of Ambassador Sanchez Rico’s three-year mandate in the country, signaling a renewed chapter in Chad’s diplomatic relations with the European Union.
