N’Djamena security operation apprehends 447 individuals in Chad
A significant joint security operation in Chad’s capital, N’Djamena, resulted in the seizure of weapons and the apprehension of 447 individuals. Minister Ali Ahmat Aghabache praised the dedication of the security forces involved in this crucial effort for the West Africa Sahel region.
A sweeping joint control and search operation recently concluded in the 10th arrondissement of N’Djamena, Chad, demonstrating a robust commitment to public safety. This multi-agency effort brought together personnel from the National Gendarmerie, National Police, GNNT, and other specialized security services. The initiative was directly overseen by Police Controller General Tougoud Digo Maïdé and Major General Djiddo Mahamat Haggar, with the active presence of Public Security Minister Ali Ahmat Aghabache, underscoring the high-level focus on security in the West Africa Sahel.
The extensive action yielded significant results, including the confiscation of various illicit weapons and irregular vehicles. Furthermore, authorities detained a total of 447 individuals: 165 foreign nationals found to be in an irregular situation, and 282 Chadian citizens who were unable to present valid identification documents.
