The Partnership and its Objectives
A new partnership agreement has been signed between the World Bank and the Moroccan government to accelerate the next phase of growth, focusing on inclusive development priorities.
According to Nadia Fettah, Morocco’s Minister of Economy and Finance, the partnership aims to support job creation for young people and women in both urban and rural areas.
The Partnership Framework
- Aligning public and private funding, knowledge, and reforms around a shared vision for Morocco’s future.
- Supporting the development of dynamic, equitable, and resilient economies.
This framework is built on Morocco’s New Development Model, which outlines a roadmap for a more dynamic, equitable, and resilient economy.
The Partnership Axes
Three key axes have been identified to drive this partnership forward:
- Improving business competitiveness by reducing regulatory barriers, enhancing competition in markets, and increasing access to financing for small and medium-sized enterprises.
- Developing connected and inclusive cities and territories by reducing geographical disparities and improving access to markets and services in urban and rural areas.
- Strengthening human capital through support for education reforms, universal healthcare coverage, and the expansion of social protection systems.
