Morocco is accelerating its efforts to secure the financial backing required for the Atlantic African Gas Pipeline (AAGP), a major cross-border infrastructure project developed in collaboration with Nigeria. The North African kingdom is in advanced negotiations with the United States Export-Import Bank (US Exim Bank) and the World Bank to raise the $26 billion needed for construction, according to Youssef Amrani, Morocco’s Ambassador to the United States.
