Morocco and philippines: building on 50 years of diplomatic ties

The strong relationship between Morocco and the Philippines rests upon a significant foundation, ripe for enhancement across various strategic sectors. This assertion comes from Philippine Ambassador to Rabat, Leslie Baja, who proudly acknowledged the fifty years of diplomatic engagement between the two nations, a milestone celebrated just last year.

Ambassador Baja elaborated on the rich historical trajectory shared by Morocco and the Philippines. This journey has been distinguished by frequent high-level exchanges, the signing of numerous bilateral agreements, and the cultivation of robust human-to-human connections. He views these established bonds as vital “foundations for the next fifty years of cooperative endeavors.”

From an economic standpoint, the Philippine diplomat noted a remarkable surge in bilateral commercial exchanges over recent years. While trade between the two countries has witnessed an impressive increase of approximately 50%, he acknowledged that current figures still fall short of both nations’ full expectations.
