Rabat recently hosted the 15th High-Level Morocco-France Meeting, a pivotal event co-chaired by Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch and his French counterpart Sébastien Lecornu.
This high-profile gathering, taking place on July 16 in the Moroccan capital, underscored the deepening strategic partnership between the two nations. The session marked the first such meeting since 2019, reflecting a renewed commitment to bilateral cooperation across key sectors.
Among the attendees were a dozen French ministers and their Moroccan counterparts, highlighting the significance of the event. Prime Minister Lecornu’s arrival the previous evening at Rabat-Salé International Airport signaled the start of his first official overseas visit since assuming office, further emphasizing the importance of this diplomatic engagement.
The summit’s agenda focused on reinforcing existing collaboration while exploring new avenues for joint initiatives. Discussions centered on economic ties, security cooperation, and shared regional challenges, with both sides reaffirming their dedication to strengthening ties under the leadership of King Mohammed VI and French President Emmanuel Macron.
This landmark meeting in Rabat follows a state visit by the French president to Morocco in October 2024, which revitalized bilateral relations. The event served as a testament to the enduring partnership between Morocco and France, paving the way for enhanced collaboration in the years ahead.
