Morocco affirms commitment to safeguarding children in armed conflicts

The Kingdom of Morocco has once again underscored its unwavering commitment to safeguarding children affected by armed conflicts during a session of the African Union’s Peace and Security Council.

In a recent address to the council’s meeting on child soldier protection in Africa, the Moroccan delegation highlighted the severe vulnerabilities faced by children in conflict zones. These young victims often endure forced recruitment, brutal violence, and prolonged school disruptions, which jeopardize their long-term development and well-being.

The Moroccan representatives stressed that preventing child soldier recruitment, ensuring immediate protection, and fostering sustainable reintegration remain critical priorities. They called for collective action to address these pressing challenges across the continent.
