The newly appointed Governor of Lions Club International’s District 403-A2, Mr. Jean Pierre HILLAH, commenced his official regional tour in Côte d’Ivoire. On Monday, August 31, 2026, he met with Dr. Souleymane DIARRASSOUBA, Minister of Planning and Development, at the ministerial offices in Abidjan.
The District 403-A2 encompasses Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, with five operational regions across Ivorian territory. Lions Club International’s core initiatives focus on bolstering youth empowerment and environmental conservation.
During the meeting, the organization reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the implementation of Côte d’Ivoire’s National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030.
The Minister highlighted the significance of the visit, noting that it aligns perfectly with the country’s ongoing transition into a new phase of its National Development Plan. The PND 2026-2030 embodies President Alassane Ouattara’s vision to elevate Côte d’Ivoire to upper-middle-income status by 2030.
Dr. DIARRASSOUBA also emphasized the robust collaboration among development partners in advancing the PND, emphasizing its alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
The discussions set the stage for future cooperation in key sectors, including youth development, healthcare, education, and environmental sustainability.
