The Olympique Lyonnais (OL) will face AJ Auxerre in a Ligue 1 fixture whose date hinges on the club’s Champions League qualification outcome. This is the only match in the league calendar awaiting a final confirmation.
According to the French Football League (LFP), the exact schedule for OL versus Auxerre will be decided on Wednesday, August 12, once the outcome of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League is known.
Should Olympique Lyonnais advance to the Champions League play-offs, the match will take place on Friday, September 4, at 7:00 PM local time. If elimination occurs in the third qualifying round, the fixture will be rescheduled for Saturday, September 5, at 8:45 PM.
Regardless of the Champions League result, the game will be broadcast exclusively on Ligue 1+.
The club had initially sought to postpone its opening Ligue 1 fixture to better prepare for potential Champions League playoffs scheduled for late August. However, the LFP denied this request.
