The new chairman of the Railway Transport Regulatory Authority (ARTF) officially assumed office during a handover ceremony held in Owendo, succeeding François Banga Eboumi.
Ludovic Megne Ndong, a former Minister of Housing, now leads the regulatory council tasked with implementing the new strategic directions defined for the institution. He stated his intention to apply the provisions of the ordinance reorganising the ARTF’s operations.
He also plans to strengthen dialogue with social partners and agency staff to improve the authority’s functioning and working conditions. Among the priorities announced are the redeployment of inspection teams and the resumption of audits along the Transgabonais railway corridor between Owendo and Franceville. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Reform and Relations with Institutions, François Ndong Obiang, and the ARTF Executive Secretary, Adrien Moukabi. This appointment comes as several reforms are underway in the railway sector.
