Judicial summons issued for Assalé Tiémoko Antoine

Assalé Tiémoko Antoine, who leads the political movement Aujourd’hui et Demain, la Côte d’Ivoire (Adci), has received a summons to appear before the senior investigating judge at the Abidjan Court of First Instance. This judicial process pertains to a legal matter involving the prominent political figure.

The national executive bureau of Adci publicly announced this development through a statement endorsed by its executive secretary, Roger Youan.

According to the document, the Abidjan Police Prefecture notified Assalé Tiémoko Antoine’s legal representatives on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, about an incoming summons for their client. Upon learning of the situation, the deputy-mayor personally proceeded to the Police Prefecture where he was officially presented with the summons, signing an acknowledgment of receipt.

The summons specifies that the Adci president is required to appear on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 8 AM, before the senior investigating judge overseeing the 8th investigating chamber of the Abidjan Court of First Instance.

In its official statement, Adci highlighted that this summons follows closely on the heels of an incident on the evening of May 11, 2026. On that occasion, its president was reportedly prevented from boarding a flight bound for Canada, with the political movement asserting that no official documentation was presented to justify the travel restriction.

In response to these events, Adci has urged its members and supporters to maintain calm, serenity, and to mobilize. The party also encouraged them to continue expanding the movement’s presence both domestically and internationally.

The party further disclosed that prior to being served with this summons, Assalé Tiémoko Antoine had already dispatched correspondence to the public prosecutor, seeking clarification regarding his legal standing.

This latest judicial development unfolds amidst a political landscape where the Adci president enjoys considerable media prominence, particularly after recently declaring his candidacy for the 2028 municipal elections in the Cocody commune.
