Senegalese football fans remain stunned after the Teranga Lions’ disappointing World Cup campaign, with fresh revelations sparking widespread debate about the team’s downfall.
Public outrage has intensified following comments from the president of Senegal’s Football Federation, Abdoulaye Fall, who publicly blamed the national coach for the team’s failure. This statement has drawn sharp criticism from supporters who argue it deflects attention from broader issues within the federation.
“His remarks are reckless and unjustified. He is simply trying to hide his own failures by pointing fingers at others. Even if the medical team’s decisions were questionable, the coach alone cannot be held responsible for this disaster,” argued Mamadou Laila Diallo, a passionate football enthusiast.
Social media platforms are buzzing with calls for the dissolution of the Football Federation of Senegal (FSF). Malang Sané, a vocal advocate for change, believes a complete overhaul is necessary to revive the sport.
“This is essential for rebuilding Senegalese football. Changing leadership without reforming the governing structures would be pointless. The authorities must prioritize comprehensive reforms,” he emphasized.

Djibril Diata warns that reckless actions could plunge Senegalese football into an unprecedented crisis. He advocates for a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind the World Cup failure.
“We need a deep inquiry to clarify what really happened during the tournament. There are too many unanswered questions. The federation is plagued by opportunists who prioritize personal gain over the sport’s interests. These issues must be exposed,” he stated.
In response, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has intervened, ordering the FSF to halt all public statements and media interactions related to the team’s performance. The move comes as activists prepare for a demonstration in Dakar, demanding greater transparency and accountability in Senegalese sports governance.
