Côte d’Ivoire hosts investors to boost 2030 development plan

Abidjan served as the stage for a pivotal gathering on July 9, 2026, as Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé inaugurated the second phase of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group. The event, held at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, brought together over 700 investors from allied nations, signaling a united front in propelling the nation’s economic trajectory forward.

Uniting private capital with national ambition

The Prime Minister emphasized the critical role of private investment in turning development aspirations into tangible progress. « This marks a decisive step in our consultative process, centered on mobilizing capital, fostering entrepreneurship, and generating sustainable value. I am encouraged to see such strong international participation, with investors from more than 40 countries joining us in Abidjan to contribute to this shared vision, » he stated.

The gathering attracted top executives, entrepreneurs, and private sector delegates who traveled to Côte d’Ivoire to engage in high-level discussions. The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of these dialogues, noting they serve as a bridge between public policy and private enterprise, ensuring alignment on key development priorities.

Private sector as the engine of growth

In his address, Robert Beugré Mambé made it clear: the government is placing the private sector at the heart of economic transformation. He underscored the nation’s proven resilience, citing an average annual growth rate of 6.5% over recent years—a performance that has solidified Côte d’Ivoire’s reputation as one of Africa’s most vibrant economies.

« Côte d’Ivoire is not just growing; it is evolving into a market brimming with opportunity. Today’s discussions will unlock investments in strategic sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030, including deep industrialization, local processing of raw materials to enhance value creation, and the expansion of critical infrastructure in transport, digital technology, and logistics. These investments will strengthen our competitiveness and position us as a hub for business and innovation, » he declared.

The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of human capital development, innovation, and essential services—key pillars for building a more productive and inclusive economy. He pointed out that the first day of the Consultative Group, focused on institutional partners, had already drawn over 3,000 delegates from 49 countries, reflecting global confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s growth story.

Investors pledge commitment to Côte d’Ivoire’s future

Representing the business community, leaders from the Confédération générale des Entreprises de Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), the Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF), the Confédération générale des Entreprises du Maroc (CGEM), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) took the floor to affirm their backing for the government’s vision. In unison, they pledged substantial financial commitments to support the implementation of the PND 2026-2030, reaffirming their role as key partners in the nation’s journey toward sustainable development.
