Chad authorities shut down illegal slaughterhouse in Abéché’s Farik Aguek district
An illegal slaughterhouse was dismantled in Abéché, boosting public hygiene and food safety. The operation ended unlawful practices and highlights the commitment of local authorities.
As part of ongoing efforts led by the mayor of Abéché to improve public hygiene and food safety, the administration of the 1st district carried out an operation on Thursday to dismantle an illegal slaughterhouse in the Farik Aguek neighborhood.
Led by Hissein Hassan Tabit, assistant to the delegated administrator, the operation put a stop to illegal slaughtering activities that were being carried out without proper sanitary and regulatory standards. Several heads of livestock were found at the site during the crackdown.
District authorities reminded that animal slaughter must take place only in approved facilities to ensure the safety of meat for consumption. They also announced that further inspections will be carried out to combat any practices that endanger public health.
With this action, the municipality of Abéché reaffirms its commitment to enforcing hygiene regulations, protecting consumers, and promoting a healthy environment for everyone.
