The strengthening of bilateral relations and the engagement of the Malagasy diaspora took center stage during Colonel Michaël Randrianirina’s official visit to N’Djamena, Chad. The Malagasy head of state met with over twenty Malagasy nationals residing in Chad, emphasizing the importance of their role. « The diaspora is a vital asset for Madagascar. Their expertise must be leveraged to drive national progress, » he declared.
Beyond fostering community bonds, the visit aimed to boost economic and professional exchanges between the two nations. The delegation highlighted the mobility of skills and the exchange of best practices as key strategies to enhance Madagascar’s influence across the African continent.
The itinerary also included attendance at the 66th anniversary celebrations of Chad’s independence in N’Djamena. Colonel Randrianirina was invited by Chadian President Marshal Idriss Mahamat, alongside Guinea-Bissau’s President General Horta N’Tam. Reflecting on the significance of the meeting, the Malagasy leader stated, « This is a prime opportunity to deepen intra-African collaboration. The Chadian president has expressed his willingness to visit Madagascar, where we can explore concrete avenues for cooperation. »
