Bénin: putschists still at large after failed coup attempt

Following a day of turmoil on Sunday, marked by military personnel storming the national television station to declare they had overthrown President Patrice Talon, the Head of State reassured the nation Sunday evening that the situation was fully under control.

While the masterminds behind the aborted coup attempt in Benin remain at large, authorities continue their manhunt. However, all hostages, including high-ranking officers, have been safely freed. The incident has prompted neighboring countries in the region to rally behind Benin, offering critical support—primarily military assistance—to strengthen regional stability.
