Bambali agro project launched: Ousmane Sonko stands with Sadio Mané

Ousmane Sonko traveled to Bambali in the Sédhiou region to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the agro-industrial project led by Senegalese striker Sadio Mané.

The speaker of the National Assembly took part in the event alongside several officials, including trade minister Serigne Guèye Diop. Upon arrival, he was welcomed by Sadio Mané, the promoter behind SM10 Agro.

Investment of 11.7 billion FCFA

The Bambali agro-industrial park is spearheaded by Sadio Mané and aims to support the processing of local agricultural products, especially mango. According to details presented around the project, the announced investment totals 11.7 billion FCFA.

The laying of the foundation stone marks the official start of construction in the footballer’s home village.

Focus on agricultural processing

The future complex is designed to strengthen mango treatment and processing capacity in the region. Promoters announce a processing capacity of 8,500 tonnes per year and the creation of more than 1,000 direct jobs, with a target of 2,500 jobs eventually.

The initiative seeks to boost the value of local agricultural output and support economic activity in the Sédhiou region.
