Vietnamese parliamentary delegation joins francophone assembly in Yaoundé

The 51st General Assembly of the Francophone Parliamentary Assembly (APF) commenced its solemn opening session on July 9 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. A distinguished Vietnamese National Assembly delegation was among the attendees at this significant gathering. The event drew an impressive assembly of over 350 delegates, including nearly 20 presidents and vice-presidents from APF member parliaments, representatives from the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), diplomatic missions, and various international organizations.

High-profile dignitaries present at the inauguration included the President of the Cameroonian Senate, the President of the Cameroonian National Assembly, and the President of the Cameroonian Economic and Social Council. Also gracing the occasion was Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary-General of the OIF, underscoring the importance of this international parliamentary forum.

The agenda for this 51st General Assembly is meticulously structured to tackle critical issues spanning politics, democracy, economic development, social welfare, cultural exchange, and environmental sustainability. Through these discussions, the assembly aims to fortify parliamentary cooperation among member states and collectively devise effective solutions for the shared challenges confronting the broader Francophone community.
