In a recent meeting with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni at his farm in Kisozi, Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi’s envoy special, Floribert Anzuluni Isiloketshi, reaffirmed Kinshasa’s commitment to peace and stability in the region.
During their discussion, they focused on addressing the deteriorating security situation in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and regional efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the Great Lakes region.
This meeting is part of ongoing diplomatic consultations between Kinshasa and Kampala to address persistent security challenges in the eastern DRC.
Floribert Anzuluni Isiloketshi, as Kinshasa’s envoy special, aims to strengthen political and diplomatic cooperation among regional leaders to support initiatives aimed at restoring durable peace in the region.
The situation remains critical in provinces such as North Kivu, South Kivu, and Ituri, which continue to face persistent insecurity due to ongoing clashes between government forces and armed groups like the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).
Meanwhile, Kinshasa and Kampala are strengthening their economic partnership through infrastructure development projects aimed at facilitating trade exchanges and promoting regional integration.
The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to a concerted approach to address security challenges that continue to threaten stability in the region.
