Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire – The Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire – African Democratic Rally (PDCI-RDA) has once again affirmed its steadfast position, advocating for a direct political dialogue among key stakeholders to establish a truly consensual electoral body. Speaking from the Party House in Cocody this past Tuesday, Brédoumy Soumaïla, the party’s spokesperson, emphasized that this crucial process cannot be reduced to a mere informational briefing.
“The PDCI-RDA has formally requested the government to initiate this dialogue without delay,” Soumaïla stated during a press conference. “Our nation’s recent history clearly demonstrates that enduring peace and social cohesion are impossible without genuine consultation and consensus-building.”
Soumaïla expressed the party’s disappointment with the head of government’s decision to invite political parties to an “exchange-free” information session, deeming such an approach wholly inadequate. He reiterated that the PDCI-RDA will consistently champion its demand for a comprehensive negotiation framework whenever necessary.
Furthermore, the PDCI-RDA is adamantly calling for a thorough revision of the electoral list before the close of 2026, in strict adherence to the Electoral Code. Brédoumy criticized the unexplained failure to conduct the scheduled 2025 revision, despite it being fully funded by the state budget. He stressed, “The government must provide a full account to Ivorian taxpayers regarding the management of these allocated funds.”
The spokesperson concluded by asserting the party’s crucial role, stating, “The people are looking to the PDCI-RDA for assistance. This support will materialize through President Cheick Tidjane Thiam, as we aim to regain state power to ensure progress for all and prosperity for every individual.”
