Morocco Mauritania military delegation completes high-level visit

Led by the Inspector General of Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces, General Mohammed Berrid, a high-ranking military delegation concluded a working visit to Mauritania on Tuesday. The delegation was warmly received by Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghezouani in Nouakchott, in the presence of Morocco’s Ambassador to Mauritania, Hamid Chabar.

During the visit, General Berrid also met with Mauritania’s Defense Minister, Hanana Ould Sidi, who presented him with the Commander grade of the National Order of Merit on behalf of the Mauritanian Head of State.

Following these engagements, the Inspector General of Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces and Mauritania’s Chief of Staff co-chaired the sixth session of the Joint Military Commission. Discussions centered on the robust military cooperation between the two nations, highlighting tangible outcomes and reinforcing their strategic partnership.

The delegations expressed mutual satisfaction with the progress achieved, underscoring the effectiveness of their collaboration as a benchmark for regional defense cooperation.
