The Malian branch of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Scholars has crowned its three national champions in the prestigious 2026 Nabawi Acharif Hadith Memorization Competition. In a rigorous selection held on June 27 at its Banankabougou headquarters, fifty participants from Bamako and across the country demonstrated their mastery of sacred texts in a day-long contest.
This initiative aligns perfectly with the Mohammed VI Foundation’s recommendations, aiming to nurture a new generation of scholars who embody the Prophet’s teachings. The nationwide selection drew talent from 50 eager participants, hailing from Bamako’s prestigious Quranic schools and centers from across the country.
The competition tested contestants in three distinct categories: elementary level (40 hadiths) won by Ahmad Sow, intermediate level (30 hadiths) claimed by Mouhamad Diallo, and advanced level (30 hadiths) secured by Boubacar Traoré. Each winner now advances to the international finals where they will compete against peers from 49 nations.
The Foundation’s mission goes beyond competition—it seeks to instill values of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and moderation that lie at the heart of these sacred texts. Through such initiatives, it continues to shape the spiritual and intellectual landscape of African youth.
