Malian armed forces have disclosed the elimination of nearly one hundred armed combatants in large-scale military operations conducted this week in the northern districts of Anfif and Tabrachat. The coordinated strikes, executed alongside allied partners, targeted militants affiliated with two prominent insurgent factions operating in the Sahel.
According to an official statement, the operations focused on neutralizing fighters from Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal Muslimeen (JNIM) and the Azavad Liberation Front (FLA). A total of thirteen precision airstrikes were carried out, resulting in the destruction of six armored vehicles and a pickup truck commonly used by armed groups for mobility and logistical support.
The Malian army emphasized that these missions were executed on Tuesday and form part of an ongoing nationwide campaign against armed factions. Command authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining disciplined and resolute military pressure, in close collaboration with regional partners, to dismantle insurgent networks operating across Mali.
In a separate announcement on X, the Africa Corps reported significant material losses inflicted on militant convoys, including the complete incineration of several vehicles. The Corps also confirmed that one of its drones successfully intercepted and destroyed a supply vehicle transporting ammunition and military-grade equipment intended for jihadist operations in the north.
The Africa Corps further described the joint operations with Malian forces as highly effective, vowing to continue targeting insurgent positions, logistics, and weaponry throughout the region to curb their operational capacity and disrupt their command structures.
