The Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) announced on Thursday that coordinated military operations in the northern regions of Anfif and Tabrachat resulted in the neutralization of approximately one hundred armed combatants. These operations, conducted in partnership with allied forces, targeted members of the Support Group for Islam and Muslims (JNIM) and the Azauad Liberation Front (FLA).
According to the official statement, thirteen precision airstrikes were executed, successfully destroying six armored vehicles and a pickup truck. The military emphasized that these actions are part of an ongoing nationwide campaign to dismantle armed factions operating across multiple regions. Commanders reiterated their commitment to maintaining “discipline and firmness” while collaborating closely with international partners to sustain pressure on insurgent networks.
The Wagner Group, often referred to as the Africa Corps, released a statement on X detailing additional operational outcomes. Their report confirmed the destruction and burning of numerous militant vehicles, with one of their drones successfully intercepting another vehicle loaded with ammunition and military equipment. The statement hailed these operations as part of a “highly effective joint effort” alongside Malian troops, vowing to persist in targeting militant strongholds and logistical assets.
