Côte d’Ivoire secures historic $80 billion investment pledge for 2026-2030 development plan

Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara expressed his satisfaction with the unprecedented financial mobilization achieved during the Consultative Group meeting for the 2026-2030 National Development Plan (NDP). Speaking on July 10, 2026, in Abidjan, he highlighted the overwhelming international confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic resilience and developmental vision.

The two-day gathering, held on July 8-9, 2026, brought together more than 2,000 investors from 49 nations. The delegation included top representatives from financial institutions, investment funds, banks, business associations, public and private enterprises, and development partners.

By the conclusion of the event, financial commitments totaling $80 billion (47,820 billion F CFA) had been pledged—nearly four times the initially targeted $11,138.2 billion F CFA. This remarkable achievement underscores the transformative potential of the NDP 2026-2030, which aims to mobilize a total investment of 114,838.5 billion F CFA (approximately $209 billion) over five years.

With the private sector expected to drive 70.2% of this investment, the plan prioritizes six key areas: peace, security, and stability; agriculture and agro-industry; private sector growth and industrialization; human capital development; strategic infrastructure; and governance modernization. These pillars are designed to propel Côte d’Ivoire into the upper-middle-income category by 2030, targeting a GDP per capita of $4,500 and a poverty rate below 20%.

President Ouattara emphasized that the state’s role is to turn these financial commitments into tangible benefits for all Ivorians—more schools, hospitals, roads, jobs, and shared prosperity. He concluded by urging the nation to unite in confidence and determination to build a stronger, more inclusive Côte d’Ivoire.
