Chad president returns from UAE visit

Chad’s transitional leader, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, landed in N’Djamena late yesterday evening, wrapping up a high-profile visit to the United Arab Emirates. The trip culminated in two separate meetings with the UAE’s top official, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, underscoring the strong ties between the two nations.

The first discussion took place at the UAE’s presidential palace, where both leaders exchanged views on regional stability and economic partnerships. A second, more private session followed at the Chadian head of state’s temporary residence, allowing for in-depth dialogue on bilateral cooperation.

Upon touchdown at N’Djamena International Airport, Déby Itno was greeted by a senior delegation led by the Prime Minister, Allah-Maye Halina, alongside the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, several cabinet members, and key presidential advisors. The Mayor of N’Djamena was also present to welcome the returning leader.
