Brest to pay tribute to Éric Roy against PSG in Ligue 1

Three months after the passing of Éric Roy, Stade Brestois 29 has announced a tribute to the former coach during the Ligue 1 clash against Paris Saint-Germain on September 13, 2026.

The club expressed its wish for the tribute to reflect the profound impact Éric Roy had on the club’s history and the deep respect held for him by his family, friends, staff, and the entire Brest community.

Stade Brestois 29 confirmed the tribute would take place during the fourth round of the Ligue 1 season, when Brest hosts PSG at the Francis-Le Blé stadium. « This moment will allow us to honor his memory in a way that truly reflects the legacy he left behind », the club stated.

Initially, the club had considered organizing the tribute during earlier matches at Francis-Le Blé. However, logistical challenges—including the closure of the Quimper stand following sanctions related to the use of pyrotechnics—made it difficult to gather fans in the desired conditions. The match against PSG was seen as the ideal occasion to pay a fitting tribute to Éric Roy.
