Benin captured the African AirBadminton men’s triples crown on Saturday, September 19, 2026, in Entebbe, Uganda, after a commanding 3-0 victory over Mauritius in the final. The quartet of Oswald Fano-Dosh, Carlos Kpanou, Julien Totin, and Preferet Adomahou delivered Benin’s gold medal in the event.

Mauritius reaches final but falters

Mauritius had booked its spot in the final with a hard-fought 3-2 win against Egypt in the semifinals. However, against Benin, the Mauritian side failed to win a single game and settled for silver. The 3-0 scoreline was confirmed by Radio One Mauritius.

Silver in Team Relay preceded gold

The triples gold comes just two days after Benin earned silver in the Team Relay, following a narrow 60-57 loss to Egypt in the final. That team performance had already secured Benin’s qualification for the BWF AirBadminton World Championships 2026.

Tournament facts and format

The men’s triples final wrapped up a campaign held at Aero Beach in Entebbe. The African Championships brought together 14 countries and more than 120 participants, according to the Badminton Confederation of Africa and the Uganda Badminton Association.

The triples format, unique to AirBadminton, features three players per side and is played best-of-five games. The first team to win three games takes the match, which explains the 3-0 result Benin recorded against Mauritius in the final.
