The recipients, hailing from the United States, Haiti, and beyond, shared emotional reflections on receiving their Beninese nationality. God Win Louis, a Haitian of African descent, expressed his profound connection: “My ancestors came from Sakété and Allada. I’ve visited Benin for a decade, but today, I feel even more Beninese.” Fresner Delva, an American descendant, described the moment as both a historical rectification and the restoration of a long-broken identity.
