On Saturday, December 13, in Cotonou, Bénin, hundreds of citizens, predominantly young people, convened to condemn a recent coup attempt that had transpired just six days prior. Earlier, on the morning of December 7, insurgents had publicly declared on national television their successful overthrow of President Patrice Talon. However, as the day progressed, the military, with crucial support, successfully thwarted the attempted putsch.
