The government of Bénin is moving forward with the institutionalization of the National Order of Civil Engineers. In a formal announcement issued on June 30, 2026, the Minister of Living Environment and Transport, Georges Alé, confirmed an extension for the registration process on the official roll of the Order.

This decision aligns with the regulatory framework established by Decree No. 2021-300 of June 9, 2021, which governs the practice of civil engineering within the country. According to the ministry, the period previously allotted for professionals to join the National Order of Civil Engineers of Bénin has been officially lengthened to ensure broader participation.
Targeted professionals and eligibility criteria
This census is mandatory for all Béninese civil engineers, whether they are practicing locally or residing abroad. To be eligible for enrollment, applicants must possess a design engineering degree, a professional Master’s degree recognized by the State and CAMES, or an equivalent certified qualification.
The registration drive covers a wide array of technical specialties, including:
- Building and public works (BTP)
- Geotechnical engineering
- Transport infrastructure
- Hydraulics and energy systems
- Sanitation and environmental engineering
- Electronics, computer science, and telecommunications
Final deadline for digital registration
Qualified individuals are instructed to complete their registration via the dedicated digital platform. A new window of thirty (30) days has been granted, starting from the date the ministerial communiqué was signed. By implementing this extension, the ministry aims to finalize the inaugural roll of the National Order of Civil Engineers of Bénin, ensuring that all practitioners are in full compliance with national regulations.
