Tchad security failure sparks outrage after N’Djaména assault

Mahamat Adam, a concerned father from N’Djaména, has publicly condemned what he describes as a glaring security failure after his son was violently attacked near Camp 27 on the evening of July 15, 2026.

The victim, his son Adam Mahamat, was en route from the Farcha neighborhood to Amriguebé when the assault occurred. Moments after passing Camp 27, he was ambushed by unidentified assailants, resulting in a serious accident. Despite the severity of his injuries, he was swiftly rescued by Camp 27 sentinels and rushed to the Central Hospital by a police patrol.

While authorities recovered the victim’s motorcycle—left behind by the attackers—the suspects escaped without being detained. The father finds the official explanation of a simple suspect escape unsatisfactory, arguing that the incident exposes deeper security vulnerabilities.

“The attack happened mere meters from Camp 27,” he stated. “This proves that even areas near military installations are not safe. How can citizens feel protected when such incidents occur in supposedly secure zones?”

Mahamat Adam has called on the Ministry of Public Security to take immediate action, demanding enhanced surveillance across all neighborhoods. He insists that no civilian area should be left unprotected, especially when situated near strategic locations. The lack of visible deterrent forces, he believes, only emboldens criminal activity.

As investigations continue, the victim’s family awaits tangible measures beyond official statements to restore their confidence in local security.
