Following an incident at the conclusion of the Morocco-Canada FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying match in Aubervilliers, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in France has formally lodged a complaint with French authorities over the desecration of the Moroccan flag and verbal assaults directed at Moroccan supporters.
The embassy issued a statement on July 6, condemning the acts as serious and disgraceful. According to the official release, verified footage and testimonies confirm that the Moroccan flag was forcibly removed, publicly burned, and torn apart by individuals shouting slogans linked to Algerian allegiance.
These developments have drawn strong condemnation from diplomatic circles, highlighting concerns over fan behavior and the need for enhanced security measures during international sporting events.
