As part of the upcoming 22nd World Blood Donor Day celebrated on 14 june 2026, the National Blood Transfusion Centre (CNTS) in Lomé is urging residents of the capital and nearby areas to step forward and donate.
This year’s theme, “A drop of humanity. Give blood. Save lives”, will be highlighted through a dedicated blood collection event scheduled for friday 12 june 2026, running from 08:00 to 16:00.
Two collection points in Lomé
Donors can choose from two locations:
- the CNTS headquarters in Tokoin Doumasséssé, opposite EPP Doumasséssé 1;
- the Tokoin Collection and Distribution Post (PCD) inside CHU Sylvanus Olympio, behind the haemodialysis unit.
A solidarity call to save lives
Through this initiative, the CNTS aims to boost blood stocks and meet the needs of healthcare facilities. The centre invites the public to take part in large numbers, reminding that a single donation can help save multiple lives.
“We are all united by the gift of blood,” says the National Blood Transfusion Centre, counting on the generosity and civic commitment of donors to make this operation a success.
The CNTS de Lomé thanks in advance all volunteers for their contribution to this solidarity action in support of patients requiring blood transfusions.
