While Paris Saint-Germain was widely reported to be among the clubs eyeing Yan Diomande, the French giants may now need to explore alternative targets. The Ivorian international has reportedly reached a personal agreement with Liverpool, leaving only the negotiation of a transfer fee with RB Leipzig. The German club is understood to be demanding a substantial €120M for their prized asset.

Having joined just a year ago from Léganes, it appears highly probable that Yan Diomande will not complete a second season in the colors of RB Leipzig. Following an impressive 2025-2026 campaign, where he netted 13 goals and provided 10 assists across all competitions, and currently participating in the 2026 World Cup, the highly-rated Ivorian international (with 12 caps) is a hot commodity in the transfer market, particularly attracting interest from PSG and Liverpool.
Liverpool’s agreement with Diomande
Despite reports indicating that Luis Enrique personally engaged in discussions for the player, the Spanish coach’s involvement might not be enough. According to information, Yan Diomande has already agreed to terms with the Reds, who are actively seeking a successor for Mohamed Salah. The remaining hurdle is to finalize an agreement with RB Leipzig. The 19-year-old winger, under contract until 2030, is valued at €120M by his current club, a figure they insist upon for his departure.
“My agents are handling it”
Even Emerse Faé found himself fielding questions about his player’s future. Following Côte d’Ivoire’s 1-0 victory over Équateur, the Éléphants coach stated: “When we were in France for preparation, journalists claimed he was signing with PSG. Now, here in the United States, I’m told he’s going to Liverpool. We’ll see. I believe he is very focused on the World Cup first, and then he will make the best decision for the next phase of his career.” The player himself deflected transfer talk, entrusting his representatives: “My agents are handling it, and I am primarily focused on my World Cup performance. That’s what’s most important. This opportunity doesn’t come around often, only every four years, so I’m making the most of it. The rest, we will see.”
