Gabon Lowers car Tax for Electric Vehicles

By Gabon government, the country has introduced a new tax incentive to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles. The law, which came into effect on January 1st, exempts the Value Added Tax (VAT) on the importation and sale of electric cars.

The measure is part of a broader effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transportation and promote sustainable mobility. By reducing the cost of owning an electric vehicle, the government hopes to increase their popularity and stimulate investment in the sector.

According to officials, the new tax exemption will benefit both domestic and foreign manufacturers selling electric vehicles in Gabon. The move is seen as a way to support the growth of the country’s emerging electric mobility market and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
