New leadership structure unveiled for PPA-CI

Former Ivorian President and PPA-CI leader Laurent Gbagbo has announced a major restructuring of the party’s leadership, introducing a shared governance model that brings together six key figures to oversee strategic and operational directions.

Six leaders to steer PPA-CI’s future

In a formal statement released this week, Laurent Gbagbo detailed the appointment of four vice-presidents and a strategic council president, each tasked with distinct yet complementary roles to strengthen the party’s operational framework.

Key responsibilities assigned

• Assoa Adou, First Vice-President overseeing party doctrine, will ensure strict compliance with the party’s statutes, internal regulations, and guiding principles across all operational structures.
• Oulaye Hubert, Second Vice-President responsible for party life, has been delegated the presidency of Central Committee sessions, adhering to established rules and orientations.
• Ackan Emmanuel, Third Vice-President in charge of party mobilization, will energize political activities, amplify the party’s outreach, and manage institutional relations within the framework of Gbagbo’s strategic vision.
• Justin Koné Katinan, Fourth Vice-President focusing on general policy, will outline, coordinate, and monitor the party’s political agenda, including government program development.
• Sébastien Dano Djedje has been named President of the Strategic and Political Council (CSP), assuming overall supervisory authority over the party’s direction and reform initiatives.

A shift toward collective leadership

Laurent Gbagbo emphasized the motivation behind this restructuring: “The strength of our party lies not in a single individual, but in the united efforts of its leaders and activists working toward a shared vision.” He highlighted that this collaborative approach aims to enhance efficiency, foster inclusivity, and reinforce the party’s capacity to deliver on its commitments.

Reorganization driven by long-term vision

The leadership reshuffle follows Gbagbo’s announcement during the PPA-CI Renaissance Day celebrations in Songon M’Bratté on May 16, where he underscored the need to revitalize the party’s structure for greater agility and impact.
